INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
FACTS
> There have never been so many qualified instructors (about 40,000 compared to 30,000 in 1993))
> The number of 17 year olds is falling year on year
> Lesson prices have risen from around £12 per hour in 1993 to £21 per hour in 2008
> At times of economic downturn and rising unemployment, the number of trainee instructors invariably rises - at the same time as fewer pupils can afford lessons

Dont use RED. Lots of people have and are most unhappy about the way they have been dealt with.
Before you think about buying a instructor training course from Red driving school (i.e. the instructor college/LVG limited) look at what past customers have had to say on the following forum threads: Be aware of The Instructor College Red driving school: http://forums.gumtree.com/topic86220.html Instructor training company reviews: http://www.drivertrainingtoday.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=296.0 Also look at Anti-Red on Facebook. - SM
I will certainly do some more research before I sign up with Red Driving School - JB Leeds
I'm looking at a local driving school who charge a lot less than £3500 - Steve, London
I guess if there's more people out of work now, less people will afford to learn - Abs, Milton Keynes
I joined RED two years ago I have not done Part III due to a serious back problem I was told by my doctor not to carry on with the training as it was making my illness much worse. My GP even wrote to RED for me. I received a standard letter back saying it was not up to my doctor and if I cannot do the training I should not be driving and should inform the DVLA. My problem is not driving short distances but I cannot sit in a car for long periods of time therefore making this career impossible. They are refusing to remiburse me any amount of the £3600 fee which I feel very unfair as I had to stop training through no fault of my own. It was obviously a standard letter so I guess a lot of people have complaints with them. I have now written again hoping to get some sort of reimbursement but I am not holding my breath! JC Bridgend
