Driving Instructor Training Organisations

There are many different driving instructor organisations in the UK, ranging from large national companies to small local driving schools.

In the past, some people have been disappointed that signing up for driving instructor training has not achieved the results that they had hoped for.

It is important that you fully understand what you are taking on.

One of the biggest reasons for diappointment is that not many instructors manage to achieve the earnings figures quoted in many adverts. Whilst it is possible to earn "up to £30,000" or even "up to £40,000", the vast majority of hard working driving instructors are unable to achieve these figures.

The second reason for disappointment is that people start their training without realising that the failure rate for the driving instructor exams is very high. Most people who embark on instructor training don't achieve their goal of becoming an ADI.

Some training providers suggest that you will get a "guaranteed job". It is important to realize that what is being offered in most cases is a franchise where you will be self-employed. This means no guaranteed, salary, no sickness insurance, no paid holiday etc

ORDIT provide a voluntary registration scheme for driving instructor trainers.

You can teach yourself some stuff by purchasing instructor training dvd's and recommended books
